The RI Department of Human Services (DHS) is sharing an important update regarding the services offered at 40 Fountain Street, which will be closed to the public for public assistance programs starting April 29, 2022. This update does not affect the Office of Rehabilitation Services or Disability Determination Services.
While the recent change may cause some inconvenience, the Department wants to emphasize that we are maintaining a presence in Providence through our regional office at One Reservoir Avenue.

Drop boxes continue to be available at the above remaining regional offices. Applications and documents put in drop boxes are cleared and date stamped daily, Monday through Friday. If you prefer to mail your application, you can send it to:
